Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched the next-generation AI-powered CG Dial-112 emergency response service in Chhattisgarh to strengthen public safety, policing, and emergency management across the state. The launch took place in Raipur, where over 400 advanced emergency response vehicles and mobile forensic vans were flagged off for deployment in all districts of the state.
The upgraded Dial-112 platform integrates police, ambulance, fire brigade, disaster management, women safety assistance, and highway emergency services under a single emergency number. Citizens can now access multiple emergency facilities through one centralized helpline. The initiative has been introduced with the slogan “Ekke Number, Sabbo Bar,” meaning one number for every emergency.
The new emergency vehicles are equipped with Artificial Intelligence-based location tracking systems, GPS technology, wireless communication devices, PTZ cameras, dash cameras, and mobile network video recording systems. These features will help authorities identify the exact location of callers during emergencies and improve response efficiency. The system also includes panic button facilities and special monitoring mechanisms aimed at improving women’s safety.
The Dial-112 service was earlier functional in only 16 districts of Chhattisgarh. With this new expansion, the emergency response network now covers all 33 districts of the state. The government aims to ensure faster emergency assistance even in remote and sensitive regions affected by security challenges.
Apart from emergency vehicles, the government also launched mobile forensic science laboratories. These forensic vans are designed to help police teams conduct on-the-spot scientific investigations and evidence collection at crime scenes. This move is expected to strengthen evidence-based policing and improve conviction rates in criminal cases.
